Marine's Stand Tall, Hoorah!!!

A Countryman who understands and got it right. My sincere compliments to Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.)

AMEN!!

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), a former Army lieutenant colonel, sends THE WEEKLY STANDARD an email commenting on the Marines' video, and has given us permission to publish it.

“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.

“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

To the Men and Women who proudly serve and have served our country. I'm very glad we have a few bold Rep's. like Allen West who will stand up with, guts and determination to speak boldly, truthfully and honorably.

Hoorah!!!---

Vacaville CA. Cooks Collision A Fantastic Business

A few days ago I had the opportunity to write about an excellent business in Vacaville CA. Cooks Collision.

I mentioned that Cooks gifted me a few extra days on my rental car, because; they wanted to finish the job with excellence.

Let me tell you first the job done is superb, 1st class body and fender workmanship. They went a step or two farther in their demonstration of service and putting the customer first.

The interior of my truck was vacuumed, my windows cleaned and the cab was completely wiped down. Much cleaner then when I dropped it off to them.

Initially when I spoke with Cooks estimator I mentioned having some pin stripping for the bed of my truck. You see I purchased a custom truck bed and bought the pin stripping from Ford to install myself. I ask Cooks to give me a price to install it when they estimated my repair needs. The estimator ask me to leave the boxes of pin stripping on the seat.

To my surprise Cooks installed the pin stripping at no additional cost. I had been given an estimate from another company of $150 to install the same stripe.

Wow! when I consider the first rate job of repairs and painting at a very reasonable price; coupled with an extended rental car at no added cost and a $150 value install of pin stripping all I see is a business poised to do great things. For me as a customer, I won't forget the exceptional service and you can bet I'll refer anyone needing body and fender work to Cooks Collision of Vacaville CA.

Great Job Cooks!!!!!

Vacaville CA. Festival Of Trees

Vacavilles Festival of Trees is a three day event that starts on 29 Nov. 2011 and runs to 01 Dec 2011
Located at the Vacavile Skating Center: 551 Davis Street, Vacaville CA. 95688
Festival Of Trees happens every year for the benefit of Vacaville's Opportunity House Homeless Shelter. An inspiring shelter that offers a hand up. The festival is operated soley by volunteers who come together to bring more than just holiday cheer to all. Each of the beautiful Christmas Trees are auctioned off and 95% of all proceeds goes to fund Opportunity House. This event is tha largest fund raiser for Opportunity House. We hope to have a record breaking year this year. I've been to see some of the set up, the trees are simply stunning: Here's an example of an incomplete tree from Young Artist Conservatory Of Music with a $400 electric guitar gift provided by: Tweed Hut Music Store on Hume Way in Vacaville CA. (more gifts will be under this tree before the day is done.

Because of generous donations from local businesses like Tweed Hut Music each of these trees will sell for several hundred to several thousands during the auction. There are a total of 50 large trees like this being auctioned along with mini trees and a sleigh full of crafts and treats all donated by individuals, churches like Saint Mary's, Saint Josephs, Cross Roads and others.
Take a good look at the works in progress as we head towards tomorrows Festival Opening.

As you can see from these photo's Vacaville's Festival Of Trees has something for both young and old. It's a magical time of year that brings our community together with music and cheer as we embrace the holiday season with giving to families looking to change their lives for the better.
Opportunity House doe's a beautiful job taking in families in distress, sheltering them and feeding them while training heads of household to learn skills from budgeting to finding gainful employment. This is an accountabilty program designed specifically to graduate a family to self suffeicency. I know there are other models in cities throughout the United States; I just don't know how they work. Vacaville's Opportunity House not only works I believe it's outstanding success can be used as a National Model to help the homeless.

Come to Vacaville CA and see this for yourself it is tully inspiring:

Real Estate Values, Banks, Government and a Bar?

A friend and client sent me an email this morning. It's simply the best example or statement of how our system of banking institutions and government have failed to serve us. Before you read the email here's two insightful qoutes from arguably the greatest Statesman ever.

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”  -- Thomas Jefferson

Understanding Derivatives

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit ...She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar.

To solve this problem, she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later.

Heidi keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit .

By providing her customers freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages.

Consequently, Heidi's gross sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit.

He sees no reason for any undue concern because he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral!

At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders figure a way to make huge commissions, and transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS.

These "securities" then are bundled and traded on international securities markets.

Naive investors don't really understand that the securities being sold to them as "AAA Secured Bonds" really are debts of unemployed alcoholics. Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb - and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses.

One day, even though the bond prices still are climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. He so informs Heidi.

Heidi then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons. But, being unemployed alcoholics -- they cannot pay back their drinking debts.

Since Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and Heidi's 11 employees lose their jobs.

Overnight, DRINKBOND prices drop by 90%.

The collapsed bond asset value destroys the bank's liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.

The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the BOND securities.

They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds.

Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multibillion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the government.

The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers who have never even been in Heidi's bar.

Now do you understand?

Historical statements worth remembering daily.

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”  -- Thomas Jefferson

“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.”-- Thomas Jefferson

Before you discount what Thomas Jefferson said read what John F. Kennedy had to say about Jefferson.

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time.
 He made this statement:

"This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone." John F. Kennedy

Something To Consider Daily:

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”  -- Thomas Jefferson

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”  -- Thomas Jefferson

Cooks Collision, a top notch company

Recently I had the unfortunate experience of someone damaging my truck door. At my request my State Farm Insurance Agent "Andy Pignataro" gave me some auto body shops for consideration. Cooks Collision of Vacaville CA was on the list, so I called them to arrange an estimate. Frank my estimator did a complete work up of all needed repairs and we scheduled the work. I needed a rental car for the 3 to 4 days Frank said my truck would be in the shop. Cooks Collision arranged for Hertz Rental to deliver a car to there shop,  when I dropped off my truck I had a vehicle. No real surprises here just good service right. Well yesterday Frank called me to say my truck was going to take another 4 days to complete the job. His comments next were interesting; Frank said; Terry we got really busy and our objective is to deliver your truck to you with an excellent job done, not just hurry to meet our estimated time of completion. My thoughts then; I get that and really expect the job done well the first time. Here's where there service went over and above. Frank said Terry I'm calling Hertz so they will stop billing you for the rental as of Friday and Cooks Collision will pick up the tab until we complete the repairs to your truck. Wow, this is what I call exemplary service. So many other companies would have told me to SIU (suck it up)....I took the time to look up Cooks Collision's web site and here's what it said;

We will be the premier provider of collision work in Northern California. By putting people first, providing superior quality and service to our customers, and continuously improving the performance of our business, we will achieve long-term customer relationships, significant competitive advantages, and fulfill careers.

There's not doubt in my mind Cooks Collision is accomplishing their stated objectives.

If you want great service, competitive prices and quality work, contact Cooks Collision for your auto body needs. In my book, Cooks Collision of Vacaville is a 5 Star business.

Best regards,
